"The purest and most thoughtful minds are those which love colour the most"
John Ruskin, The Stones of Venice (1851-3)
I love colour. I love how wearing a bright yellow dress or painting your lips with a vivid red lipstick can totally change your mood, making you feel energetic or strong or vibrant. It's amazing how something as simple as a brilliant new pillow or adding some fun, colourful tableware can totally transform your home. Now, I totally know how chic it can feel to don a head to toe black ensemble, and I definitely do this often, but colour sure is fun and it is such a huge inspiration for KAIKO.
That is why I wanted to start a little series of colour inspiration posts where I take a beautiful image and break it down into it's key components and how they work together.
The first is this stunning image of Fyriplaka in Greece by @whatalexloves. The washed out colours that are synonymous with the Mediterranean are some of my favourite colour combinations. They remind me of my hometown in Australia where the strong, bright sunshine can often bleach the landscape against the vibrant blue of the ocean.
As a total blue obsessive, I am really drawn to any of it's shades and am now getting so much more appreciative of the subtle tones of white that so beautifully compliment it. Nature really does have a way of showing us the best combinations of colour and I'll definitely be using this medley in the future.
